KASUGAI, Aichi-Kasugai City Workers’ Union on May 15 handed flyers with snacks to union members, who were treating Covid-19 patients at Kasugai Municipal Hospital, to convey their respect and thank the staff for struggling. Aichi Jichiroren also participated in this action. They asked the members about what difficulties they were facing and what they needed.
In Kasugai Municipal Hospital, 50 beds were prepared for COVID-19 patients, for whom skilled staff in the hospital were placed in the isolation ward. The medical staff, who were treating COVID-19 patients, had to stay at a hotel booked by the hospital for 2 weeks after work. A nurse, who was about to work at the COVID-19 ward, said, “I won’t be able to see my family for a month. Though I feel secure that my husband and my parents take care of children, I’ll honestly miss them.”-
