KYOTO-Kyoto Jichiroren submitted petitions for COVID-19 vaccination to the prefectural authority. Municipalities across Japan are preparing for conducting the program for preventing the spread of the coronavirus infection. In Kyoto, however, many of them are placed in a situation where there is a lack of detailed information about the vaccination programs from the central government.
Kyoto Jichiroren demanded prefectural officials also to inform municipalities and residents of information, not to force vaccination on people, and to increase PCR tests and the number of public health nurses.
“Nation-led vaccination is to be carried out by municipalities with the cooperation of prefectures, so the role and support of the prefectural government of Kyoto are essential,” said Isao Fukushima, the president of Kyoto Jichiroren.
